Once again, I am a little late in posting, but I wanted to document our wonderful Christmas!
Our Christmas break began with a visit from Leigh Anna and Julio, Clay's sister and brother-in-law who live in Jacksonville, Florida. Julio had never seen snow and unfortunately we didn't have a whole lot of it for him, but he did get to see a little! We went to Temple Square and saw the lights and Joseph Smith movie, which is always amazing. We ate at all of our favorite places and even tried some new places from "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." Leigh Anna converted me to an Anthropologie sale shopper! I never knew they had such great sales. I got a maxi dress for $10... I was very impressed. We are so glad they made the trip to Utah, but next time I'll actually take pictures! ;)
They left a couple of days before Christmas and we spent Christmas with my family. Preston and Katy came and so we had the whole group this year. We did our usual Christmas traditions that we all love. We had a delicious Christmas Eve dinner and then opened our Christmas pajamas. We read the Christmas story and watched some touching videos on lds.org together. After the girls went to bed, we all had fun setting up Santa for them! Can't wait to get to do that for our kids one day. On Christmas morning, Clay and I got up super early to open presents together before we went to my parents house to see the girls open presents. Then, we headed over to my parent's house and opened presents with the family and went to church. I loved that Christmas fell on a Sunday this year, as it really focused the day on our Savior. We had a beautiful Christmas program at church and then came home and relaxed together. For dinner, we continued our tradition of fondue to end the day. My sister-in-law, Katy made the perfect video to document the Grubbs Family Christmas 2011, Thanks, Katy! Click on the link to watch it. I don't know how to embed it.

After Christmas, Clay and I went to Florida to have Christmas with his family. I am so lucky to have such wonderful in-laws! My mother-in-law always goes all out when we visit and makes all of our favorite foods. It is always great to have fresh seafood and real southern food...we don't get a lot of that out here! We watched movies and ate way too much. Leigh Anna and Julio got to come for the weekend for Clay's dad's birthday and New Years! We also got to see Leah and Ben while we were there! For New Years, we went to Bonefish (one of our favorite restaurants that we don't have here) and then watched the ball drop. I ended up getting sick a couple of days into the trip and so we stayed home and relaxed the last couple of days, which was nice. There is something about Clay's house that is just so relaxing to me. I can always take the best naps there. We watched some of our favorite movies and enjoyed spending time with his family!
We are grateful for our wonderful families and the time we were able to spend with them over the holidays. I love the holiday season and being able to focus on the things that matter most: the people in our lives, all of our many, many blessings, and our Savior, who made it all possible.
